Makapueo Farms is family owned and operated, preserving the legacy of Patricia Leola Young. Brought up by her full blooded Hawaiian mother Betsy and father Henry Astronomo. As with all Hawaiians, you gave everything and expected nothing in return. We were all brought up with a firm hand and strong work ethics. The “Company” is now owned & operated by her son Kaipo Sheen. Kaipo who after serving in the United States Navy found great satisfaction in agricultural business management. Spent 7 years in Nebraska learning about farming. After Patricia’s passing Kaipo decided to come back home and focus his experience in coffee where she left off.

We have controlled every step of the process from the clearing the ground, planting the trees, harvesting the beans, and on through the roasting.
